Just Do It Anyway For people like us who are Organizationally Challenged, the phrase Nike made famous, “Just Do it!” doesn’t work.
We ask, “Do it? Just do what?!” You and I know that so much has to be done, and it can be overwhelming.
When we’re faced with doing something, we have to unfreeze first and then know what to do. We think we need to feel like doing stuff… that actually isn’t the case… that is where the “anyway” comes in.
So, in this video, I address two things. I am going to talk about what to do and how to do it.
WHAT to do is what will make you most happy. Look around at what has to be done. Don’t think ‘priority,’ think happy, and choose to do that.
Ask yourself what would make you the happiest to get done? Don’t think about “ought to”, “have to,” or “need to”… Think HAPPY TO!
When you’re done with that particular task, think of the next thing that would make you most happy to get done and move along with it.
Now for the HOW… How to do it? How do we do the things that need to be done? How do we do the things that we WANT to be done?
❤️ you Kathy. Jeannine from Brooklyn. Many thanks. Peace & Blessings.
Thank you Jeannine. Peace and Blessings to you as well xxoo
This video was very motivating and made me think about things differently. I will use this advice to gain momentum, to get those things done that my brain gives me excuses to avoid in the moment. I will rule my emotions and not let them rule me. Also, I would always get stuck on what to do next. Your advice to do what would make you the most happy makes sense and is easier to act on. It avoids making a decision based on what is the right thing to do which always stumps me. Thank you, Kathy.
Thanks so much! Keep in touch Donna!
Sometimes this is a hard concept to accept… But over time, it does get easier to stop and just do it anyway… Because you start to see that, for example the next day you remember how you just stopped to wipe off the stove before bed, and unlike other morninyyou had to clean it before making breakfast–but not this.
It doesn’t take long to see it’s a good thing to do.
Thankyou for telling it like it is with a solution ” do it anyway.”
Thank you Barbara for taking the time to comment and letting me know.
