I actually started writing this last week, but couldn’t get it done till now because what I wanted to do was not as easy as I thought it would be…

If you read my last blog you know that I’ve been off the grid basically for 2 months! Well,  I wasn’t going to let that happen again. But I was like, HOW?!

I’m still plugging away at the new TTU lessons and taking care of my Tidy Tutor Insider Peeps… Not to mention (although I will mention, lol) all the tech that needs to be done moving over to the new platform… because Tidy Tutor University is now The Tidy Tutor Masterclass and it is a Pay What you Can enrollment fee (lots of stuff to do to make that happen.)

So, I decided to do a Facebook live last week spur of the moment… and it lead to me doing a Facebook Live every Monday – Thursday at 9 am New York Time.

I tried to share the videos on Youtube and set up a blog with it, but the videos don’t covert real well.

I’ve been trying to figure it out and I finally got one to work out 🙂 So here it is.

If you are on Facebook you can watch the live videos there. Here is the link:

If you aren’t on Facebook, I send it out to you in an email, if I have your email address.  You can watch it directly from the FB link I share with you in it, even though you don’t have Facebook.

Oddly enough you can watch it there, but I can’t just add the video to a blog.

Well, Every Monday to Thursday I choose a topic and chat about it as you work on whatever it is you’re doing.

The goal of the Facebook live videos is for us to be together for 15 minutes while you get stuff done.

So here is the blog for this week using one of the videos:

Set an intention for these 15 minutes and work on it!

The topic is: Don’t Pass it Up, Pick it Up.”

First thing to do is: * Set an intention. * What are you going to do?

AND then Stick to it for the amount of time we’ll be together.

So, here we go… Don’t pass it up, pick it up!

I learned this from the book “Sidetracked Home Executives.” by Pam Young and Peggy Jones.

That is where I got my start in living a life that is free from chaos and confusion… I’ve been doing this since 1989.

Been doing this for a long time… Lots of things have changed since then.

When I first learned this it was this HUGE revelation to me! “HA!!! Don’t pass it up pick it up!” Because it was so much stuff! I felt like it was futile…

I didn’t’ think about, cleaning up as I go…I thought about cleaning up because it needed it.If we start to clean up when it needs it…it’s already too late.

If you have a plan and clean up as you go… Then you won’t spend hours and hours… days and days and weeks and weeks cleaning and de-cluttering.

Do you know how many people have a vacation and use it to clean up the house?

We want that to stop. If you’re living at home and there is stuff everywhere you might be thinking, “Well, that’s impossible!” You might be thinking, “Well, that’s impossible…”

Here’s the thing… We want to have a new standard. We want to have a new reality for ourselves. We want to do things differently.

So, if you can pick it up. If you have children we need to train them and then, they’ll learn it just like they learned math or reading. So, if you see
them drop something and walk away, stop them and say… “Julie, come on…” “You just dropped that, put it away…” and then explain a little bit to them.

The Bible says, Train up a child the way he should go and when he is old it will not depart from him. Proverbs 22:6

Training is something that is repetitive. Done over and over.  We need to do that for them and we need to do that for us. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over until it becomes habitual.

Don’t beat yourself up because you don’t do it all the time. You won’t do it all the time until it becomes a habit. To make something become a habit, we have to have repetition.

Make “Don’t pass it up pick it up.” as a new standard. There is lots more examples in the video.

Let me know what you got done in the 15 minutes! And what you think about the new habit.

With Love,
Kathy
