This week for Motivation Monday we’re going to think about Tomorrow today.

If you’ve taken my class, or gotten my tips you know about this… even still, it is one thing that needs to be done that is so fundamental to succeeding that we can’t hear about it enough.

It is one of the most important things to do to succeed in having a life that is productive, ordered and with way less stress.

It’s easy to think that we don’t have that much to get ready, and then we convince ourselves that we can do it tomorrow, and what happens is, in the morning we end up scrambling to get our day going, it’s never fun.

Preparing for tomorrow is one of THE most important things to do. Organized people do this. We don’t have to be like them. We don’t have to be really scheduled and rigid, but we do need to learn from them… I know we don’t want to lose our spontaneous natures, but we do have to change some of our habits if we are to achieve an organized life, and this is one of them.

The best thing to do to prepare for tomorrow is to think about tomorrow today. Think abotu what you have going on tomorrow and PRETEND that it’s morning and that you have to leave the house. Do all the things you would have to do to make it happen.  Do the things you need to do, pickup what you need, get things together… everything you’d have to do, only you’re doing it tonight, tricking yourself into thinking that it’s the morning, you need all of this NOW…

Something I do is I keep a bag on my doorknob. I show you 2 bags in the video. I have one on my side door and one on my front door. (NOTE: In the video I talk about having them available on the website, but they aren’t any longer. If this is something you would be interested in, please let me know) What we do with these bags is, as we’re preparing for tomorrow, we stick things in the bag that we need to take out with us.

Waiting till the last minute to prepare for tomorrow makes us rush and we end up spilling out the front door looking like a crazy person. This stops that from happening.

Here are some examples: Do you have an appointment you have to keep? Is it somewhere you’ve never been before? Do you need to get directions? Do you need to go to a doctors office and need an insurance card or paperwork with you? Do you need to go to motor vehicle? Do you have all the things you need for that collected?

Get everything you need, thinking about tomorrow ready, get it by the door you use and get all you can in your bag.

Make sure you have your shoes by the door, your keys, the jacket you’re wearing, and get your clothes ready.

Let me know how this works for you. Seems like such an easy to-do, and it is, but it is something we balk at so often and it is a game changer!
